Irish bass-baritone Rory Dunne is an alumnus of Wexford Festival Opera Factory 2020/2021, previous member of INO Studio 2019/2020, and a semifinalist in the 2022 Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition.

Recent opera engagements include Giovanna d’Arco with Opernfestspiele Heidenheim, Armida with Wexford Festival Opera and Der Rosenkavalier with Irish National Opera.

Rory’s past operatic performances include Guglielmo (Cosi fan tutte), Falstaff (Falstaff), Capellio (I Capuleti e i Montecchi),  Colline (La Boheme), The Mikado (The Mikado), Monterone (Rigoletto), Pimpinone (Pimpinone), Haly (L’Italiana in Algeri), Buck Mulligan (Eric Sweeney’s “Ulysses”), Dottore Grenvil (La Traviata), Greatrakes (Vagabones), Sciarrone (Tosca), David (A Hand of Bridge), Fiorello (Il Barbieri di Siviglia), and Dancaire (Carmen).

Rory has performed with Irish National Opera, Cork Opera, Northern Ireland Opera, Opera Collective Ireland, Lyric Opera Productions, Opera in the Open and the RTE Concert Orchestra Chorus, performing roles in The Wexford Opera House, The National Concert Hall, The Bord Gais Energy Theatre and The Buxton Opera House.

Rory is a graduate of both the TUDublin Conservatoire and The Bull Alley Theatre Training Company, studying as both an actor and a classical singer. Rory was a semi finalist at the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition 2022, the winner of the Feis Ceoil Dramatic Cup and Gervase Elwes Memorial Cup 2021, awarded the Blackwater Valley Opera Festival Bursary 2021, awarded the PwC Bursary by Wexford Festival Opera 2020,  awarded the Bernadette Greevy Bursary Mahler Prize in 2018, a recipient of the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama’s Gold Medal 2017 and winner of the Feis Ceoil John McCormack Cup, O’Mara Cup and R&R Cup in 2016.
